Iraq is the Guest of Honor at the 2026 Amman International Book Fair.

Jaber Abu Faris, President of the Jordanian Publishers Association and Director of the Amman International Book Fair, announced today that the Republic of Iraq has been selected as the Guest of Honor for the 25th edition of the Amman International Book Fair, to be held in 2026.

The fair is scheduled to take place from 24 September to 3 October 2026 at the Jordan International Exhibition Center – Mecca Mall.

In a press statement, Abu Faris said: “This decision reflects the deep-rooted fraternal ties between our two countries and reaffirms Jordan’s cultural standing as a hub for Arab creativity through the Amman International Book Fair, which serves as a bridge for cultural dialogue and brings together Arab writers, intellectuals, and creators under one roof.”

The statement added that Iraq will participate with a rich and diverse cultural program aligned with the fair’s overall cultural agenda. Held under the Royal Patronage of His Majesty, the exhibition will see close coordination between the fair’s organizing committees and their Iraqi counterparts to ensure a distinguished and impactful participation that celebrates creativity and knowledge and meets the expectations of the Jordanian and wider Arab cultural community.

Abu Faris expressed hope that Iraq’s participation would further strengthen cultural exchange between the two brotherly countries and open new avenues for cooperation in publishing, translation, and the arts. He noted that the initiative will provide Jordanian audiences and visitors with a unique opportunity to explore the richness and diversity of Iraq’s contemporary cultural landscape.

The Amman International Book Fair, held annually under Royal Patronage, has previously welcomed several Arab countries as Guests of Honor, including Palestine, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Tunisia, Kuwait, Algeria, and the Sultanate of Oman.
